Women Composers: Negotiating a Place

Usual Description

The course centers on the careers and works of women composers of European and American art music of the last two hundred years. We will explore both the types of music women compose and the ways in which they present themselves publicly as women and artists. During second module emphasis will be on the compositions and careers of living composers, especially those residing in the area.
